Updating Home Décor for Spring
The warm weather has finally hit the DMV area and we hope it’s here to stay! Our favorite sunglasses and sandals will be our go-to accessories for the next couple of months. And like many of you, we’ll also be doing our spring cleaning in the upcoming weeks. That is the perfect opportunity for you to freshen up the look of your home! Your wardrobe shouldn’t be the only thing you update for the new season!
It’s all in the details –
First of all, we’re going to tell you that one of the most effective ways you can update an area is by changing the smaller details, there’s no need to buy a new piece of furniture. The easiest (and relatively inexpensive) way to freshen up a room for spring is with a new bold printed curtain, decorative pillow, or area rug. You’d be surprised at what such a small accessory can accomplish. Now what looks scream “spring”?
Bright Colors and Bold Prints –
Spring is all about bright happy colors and big bold prints. You can pick one or both but these styles transfer beautifully onto any décor accessory. Splashes of color excite the eye, so don’t shy away from fun designs or mixing and matching. It’ll pay off when the room is complete!
Let In the Sunshine-
Don’t overlook the importance of natural sunlight. Especially when spring fever is in the air, you want to let in as much light as possible. Sheer or nude colored curtains will be the most effective at letting in light, but if you were hoping to have those bold patterns you can just leave them open. The light opens up the room making it feel larger and displays the beautiful weather outside of the window.
Fresh flowers –
Lastly, what else could make a room shout “spring” more than a flower arrangement? One or two vases throughout your home will breathe life back into your décor. They brighten up the room and make for the perfect center piece. There are also lots of fun DIY projects to make wall décor that will impress anyone that walks in the door.
