At long last, the idyllic weather depicted by many spring commercials has arrived and the worst of the April showers appear to have receded for the time being.
Unfortunately, for many of us, the nice weather is also a harbinger of hay fever. Following a short interlude of bliss in the warm sunlight is an itching sensation around your eyes and when you rub them, it only seems to make things worse.
If itchy eyes don’t get to you first, then you will undoubtedly experience a flurry of sneezes accompanied by a few awkward moments in public when nobody bothers to say, “Bless you” or when you noisily blow your nose into a tissue.
But as luck would have it (or mother nature, I should say), light rain continues to frequent May in D.C., which means lower pollen counts and less worries about medicating yourself with various antihistamines. It also means lower temperatures and puddles that conveniently materialize right where you’re walking.
So to prepare for the sunny and rainy days ahead, here are a few spring essentials to carry around:
Transparent dome umbrellas are all the rage now, especially if you’re in the city.
Who said rain boots had to be clunky and boring?
And when the clouds clear up, make sure to have Garnier’s Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller on you until you can get your hands on some eye drops and antihistamines:
Nylon bags – water resistant with an effortless look that adds to any outfit!
As always, the best way to start off Monday is to look great and feel great! What are some things you’re doing to prep for the spring weather? Let us know!
