The definition of chic, pronounced –sheek-, is very distinctive in definition and obvious in terms of style. According to Merriam-Webster, chic specifically means the following :
1: smart elegance and sophistication especially of dress or manner : style <wears her clothes with superb chic>
2: a distinctive mode of dress or manner associated with a fashionable lifestyle, ideology, or pursuit <wearing the latest in urban chic>
3: a faddishly popular quality or appeal; also : something (as a practice or interest) having such appeal <the transient tides of academic chic — Irving Kristol>
As we are entering a new year, it is nice to change your style up. It’s nice to refresh it. What a better way to add a chic appeal to your wardrobe. Here how you can do that using your own personal style.
There are four types of “girls” that are often seen today. Lets start by examining the Rock-n-Roll chick. She often sports black or dark colors. She is very edgy, spontaneous, and out-going. She is not afraid. The best to make turn a rocker chick to rocker-chic, is to add a pop of color to the dark or black. Here we are displaying rocker-chic with a light color sweater that pops. Preppy-Chic is very girly, sassy, and elegant. She is one who is very playful. Are you a fan of tu-tu’s, polka dots, and heels? Maybe you are a Preppy-Chic Chick. Here we are displaying out preppy chic chick in a a playful, pink tu-tu and pumps. Would you wear this look?
Street/ Sporty styles is very different from what was mentioned before. Adding in a fashion element such as a jersey and adding elegance with pumps is spicy and flavorful. Now that’s what we call Sport/ Street-Chic.
