Oscar’s 2016: The roaring 20’s trend

What do we most look forward to at every Oscar’s? Surprise, surprise, the fashion. We love watching our favorite celebrities duke it out on the red carpet for best dressed and the 88th Academy Awards did not let us down! We were pleasantly surprised by the trend setters this year. The simplicity and glamour of the roaring twenties seemed to have an influence on many of the attendees and we can’t help but give two huge thumbs up.

Old Hollywood Glamour: Simple gowns paired with statement jewelry

Charlize Theron’s look perfectly showcases the best elements of the twenties. From the style of her hair to the classic red Dior Haute Couture dress paired with the Harry Winston diamond necklace. This is timelessly classy and epitomizes Hollywood glamour. Many other celebrities had the same idea.

Following in the same footsteps, Olivia Munn wearing an orange Stella McCartney gown and Rachel McAdams wearing an emerald green August Getty Atelier gown are pure elegance in their up-do’s and diamond accessories. Diamonds were definitely these girl’s best friend! These looks bring back the romanticism of Old Hollywood. This is a trend we can definitely get behind.

The Vintage Gowns: Sequins and sparkles

Taking the twenties style a step further, there was some serious sparkle that night. After all, the twenties were all about the glitz and glam!

Saoirse Ronan was gorgeous in this custom sequined gown by Calvin Klein. This vintage look is heavily influenced by the roaring twenties and it is definitely one of our favorites! Sequins were all the rage in that era and we’re excited to see a classy comeback.

Similarly, Margot Robbie in a golden Tom Ford gown and Daisy Ridley in an embellished Chanel Haute Couture gown were stunningly vintage on Sunday. The drama and allure of the roaring days was definitely influencing their looks. There’s just something so effortlessly elegant about them.
